Today marked the last day for this term’s module named “Contemporary Conservation Science”, which I was leading at Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology, University of Kent.
We had 11 amazing speakers sharing their knowledge with our students. Four talks from policy/practice sector Natural England, Chester Zoo, Zoological Society of London (ZSL) and Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust while the rest were delivered by great speakers from the universities of Oxford, Cambridge, Open, Sheffield, Imperial, and Kent. Many thanks to all great speakers for sharing their expertise. 👏 🌻
During the last seminar, we delved into 4 recent issues related to “Contemporary Conservation in the UK”:
1. Recent debates about hen harriers and grouse moors in the UK, published in #Guardian by RSPB and Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust
2. Biodiversity Net Gain #bng
3. “Delivering 30by30 on land in England” report published by DEFRA
4. #cop28uae
